A special fall contest for youth writers age 10-14.
  • Enter as many times as you like
  • $10 CAN per entry (if this is more than you are able to pay, email us using the contact form...no one will be turned away for lack of funds)
  • One piece of writing per entry
  • Each entry must be 14 lines or less (not including title or blank lines), no matter the genre
  • Any genre of writing is welcome, including poems, fiction, creative non-fiction, essays, journal entries, haibuns, interviews, or you dream it up
  • DO NOT put your name, address or any contact information on the entries themselves, only the writing
  • You must be between 10 and 14 years old to submit (as of the date of your entry)
  • Please submit only previously unpublished work (on your personal blog or social media page is okay)
  • All entries will be judged anonymously and on merit
  • Contest submissions are open from Oct 15 - Nov 15
  • Shortlist of five announced on December 5 and the winner on December 15
  • One winner will receive publication on the website and in our spring edition, a one-year subscription to the Claremont Review, $50 and mentorship with poet Elee Kraljii Gardiner
  • By submitting to this contest, you agree that should you be shortlisted, you give the Claremont Review permission to use your art or excerpts of your writing for marketing purposes in the future; and should you win, you give the Claremont review first publishing rights and permission to use your art or excerpts of your writing for marketing purposes in the future
